Little is Much... Mask Ministry Update




Little is Much…….

The Mask Ministry is now entering its 5th week of sewing with over 600+ masks completed and distributed to healthcare professionals, first responders, and families throughout our community and beyond. Six hundred……a number of quantification, an indicator of rise and fall, or a measure of success. The news media has reported that manufacturing companies have the capability to produce one million or more masks per week.  In the shadow of that vast number, Satan whispers to us, “there is no need to try. Your contribution is too small to make a difference.”  But God says, “little is much, when I am in it.”  So on those long days and evenings when our fingers and hands are puffy, our shoulders are tight and our backs are aching,  we reflect on the encouraging words of those who have already received our masks…..”each mask I give out may save a life”…….”your ministry is such a blessing to so many”…..”our nurses are eager to use your masks”….. and God smiles and says “well done, my good and faithful servant.” And that is enough, and we press on.

Life Lessons at the Jordan River Seminary: 2 Kings 6:1-7

  April 12, 1981, I had this unnerving thought; “I don’t know what I am going to do with my life”.  O wow!  I wonder if I have any company in the room this morning if some of you have had thoughts like that!  I remember the date well.  When the first space shuttle Columbia launched on April 12, I was finishing work on my second degree. I was 7 months from getting married and 8 months from entering seminary. I was in a good Sunday School group in a collegiate environment.  In fact, I drove the van for the collegiate group.  I even drove by Karen’s dorm.  She said she had a ride, “thank you”.  I never told dad and mom about April 12.   He would have said; “Okay we’ll increase the acreage and bring in more cows.   That means more hay bailing.   This is the day job.   The factories are hiring night workers.   Get it together! When Will the End Be? Matthew 24.36-44

Keep watching.   Question:   When will the end be?   Jesus is coming to restore all things.   There will be no more dying and no more fear.   Jesus gives the disciples the hope of His return.   He wants them to have assurance.    “When are you doing to all these things?” the disciples wonder.   We do this with other things in our lives as well.   For example, when someone gets engaged we ask, “When’s the date?”   When someone is about to graduate we want to know the graduation date.   We want to have the details.   This is a natural curiosity.   We have the same questions the disciples had.   Answer: We do not know when Jesus will return .    There’s the answer!   It’s an important answer.   This is the most important future event of our lives, when Jesus answers the disciples in verse 36:              ...
